It was 1999, and like all great technology companies, Jammicron started when a couple of friends—Darren and Greg—had an idea: to set up a phone support line and help companies overcome their Y2K problems.
Well, that business wasn’t the only thing customers wanted, and before long the friends discovered they could produce great technology solutions and provide superior service for websites and custom software. Before long, that idea took over Greg’s spare bedroom.
“We believed in creating a business that actually listens to customers—that gives them what they want and need, not what we wanted to sell them,” Greg says of the original philosophy—which is the core of our company’s business model.
Meanwhile, Dave was moving apartments when neighbour Greg saw that he needed help transporting a sofa…and another friendship, then house-mate, then future business partnership took off with Dave coming aboard to handle sales and support.
“We’ve always believed in building our business slowly and growing carefully,” Dave says. “That’s the way we can continue to provide the high level of service we’re known for.”
In Jammicron’s early days, Dave literally pounded the pavement—going door to door in retail and business neighbourhoods to spread the word. “Our quality product and service quickly began to sell themselves,” Dave notes. “Today 100% of our new business comes from referrals.”
In the eight years since Jammicron opened our doors, the company has grown to include hundreds of clients. Jammicron has designed and built countless websites, helped clients increase their web traffic, built numerous “back-end” custom software solutions, and helped many companies take their first steps into the world of e-Commerce.
In 2006, Jammicron moved into modern new offices overlooking the Fraser River in eastern Richmond, British Columbia, part of the Greater Vancouver Region.
Jammicron’s founders continue to manage our growing business, which now employs many talented programmers and designers, and has additional resources for content development.
